Rick Hall

Rick is a writer on Creativity and Learning. Now retired from , the education charity he founded at Nesta in 2003, Rick is an adviser to a number of Nottingham-based programmes including the Festival of Science and Curiosity, Nottingham’s candidacy for UNICEF Child Friendly City status, and Creativity Collaboratives, a city-wide, schools-based programme developing creativity in learning.

A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and a Churchill Fellow, Rick is a regular visitor to Finland, where he was Writer in Residence in the village of Koli in 2019.

His current project is research into the games and rhymes that children play in their school playgrounds; and he is , based on the principle that in life and work we rarely get it right first time.
