R. Project is a sustainable design exploration that transforms discarded furniture into living garden pieces.

The Inspiration Behind the Project

Inspired by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh's concept of interbeing—“A flower is not a flower. It is made only of non-flower elements”—this project aims to create a symbiotic relationship between humans and nature. By integrating plants into the design, R. Project seeks to close the loop on material consumption and challenge traditional, linear production models.

Being Part of NTU

My Master's in Furniture and Product Design at Nottingham Trent University laid the foundation for this project, providing me with the knowledge and skills to develop innovative solutions. I am eager to continue exploring sustainable design through further research, combining design with craftsmanship to create a more sustainable future.
