The Project
The Smart Saving Device integrates various innovative products for children, functioning as both a piggy bank and a toy. This design combines the features of traditional and digital piggy banks, helping children understand the value of money in a cashless society while adapting to electronic payment modes in the digital age. Paired with a money-learning app, children can learn about money on their parents' mobile phones, and parents can conveniently manage their children's pocket money.
The Inspiration Behind the Project

In the digital age, electronic payments have become prevalent, making cash less common. This shift has led to children lacking a concept of money and its value. Early financial education can help children understand the consequences of overspending and the importance of living within their means. The color scheme, inspired by Buzz Lightyear, makes the device attractive to children, while the rocket and UFO shapes with added wheels make it usable as a toy car.
Being Part of NTU

Yuhan's time at NTU was a magical experience, vastly different from her undergraduate life, and highlighted cultural differences. NTU focuses on students' hands-on abilities, offering excellent workshops and various products for students to create their own designs. Throughout her graduation project, Yuhan's tutor and technical staff provided immense support. Over the year at NTU, she not only learned a lot of professional knowledge that improved her design skills but also allowed her to make friends from all over the world.
Closing Remarks
After a year of postgraduate study at NTU, Yuhan is excited about the future. Post-graduation, she plans to use the skills and knowledge acquired at NTU to pursue a career in innovative product development or become a product design teacher. Yuhan is very grateful for the experience and education she received at NTU, which has laid a strong foundation for her future work in product design.
