The PGR Dashboard
Learn more about the PGR Dashboard and how to make the most of it to support your doctoral journey.
What is the PGR Dashboard?
The houses a candidate’s virtual record. Each candidate’s dashboard includes a timeline, with the deadlines for their milestones (e.g. project approval or annual monitoring), that is also visible to their supervisory team.
The PGR Dashboard is used for:
- Recording supervisory meetings
- Booking doctoral training and development sessions
- Development needs analysis
- Project approval submission
- Annual monitoring submission
- Thesis submission and viva arrangements
- Requests to alter study (e.g. NECs, extensions, change of supervisory team)
How to use the PGR Dashboard
The Dashboard is enabled with single sign on, which means you can access it with your NTU account. If you're a candidate with both a colleague and student account, make sure you're using your student account.
When you begin a submission or request on the PGR Dashboard, it will notify the relevant users – usually your supervisory team – that a workflow has been created that requires their attention.
If you need any support with using the PGR Dashboard, or contact pgrdashboardsupport@ntu.ac.uk.
Development Needs Analysis and booking sessions
In the PGR Dashboard there is a tab called ‘Professional Development’. This is for you to book events, record attendance at any additional School-based or external training and development events, and evidence your development and engagement.
The first step is to complete the Development Needs Analysis, which will enable the Dashboard to recommend useful events and learning.
Once you have recommendations, you can book onto the events, save these in your preferred calendar (iCal, Outlook, Google), and use ‘My completed activities’ to track your attendance and your ongoing learning.
PGR Dashboard user support
To support you in using the PGR Dashboard, the development team have put together a series of user guides.
