Publishing

In the course of your doctoral studies, you may have opportunities to publish conference papers, journal articles and contributions to edited collections. You may also have long-term ambitions to publish a book.

Publishing practices vary depending on your discipline. We encourage you to speak to  your supervisors to identify publication options, timelines for publication, possible publication venues, as well as their expectations for co-authorship.

The Library’s Academic Engagement team: Open Research provide support with the business of publishing and keep you up to date with the developments in this field.

Through our training and resources, you will understand and conceptualise all of the research assets generated during your studies and be able to package these up and disseminate them for maximum impact and visibility. There is also training offered within the DETD programme on publishing for a range of audiences and purposes.
