Course studied: MA in Heritage Studies
We now offer: MA Museum and Heritage Development
What sets the course apart is its very holistic approach. All aspects of the cultural sector are critically examined, and the skills we developed were both practical and highly responsive to real-world challenges.
Â鶹ÊÓƵ about Darren
I still draw on my NTU MA in Heritage Studies nearly three decades later, and remain closely connected to the course through a range of activities, including providing placements for students, mentoring, lecturing, and collaborating on student projects. The course played a pivotal role in my journey towards becoming a cultural entrepreneur and in co-founding with Eric Langham—now one of the world’s leading cultural consultancies.

Why MA Heritage Studies (MA Museum and Heritage Development) stands out
What sets the course apart is its very holistic approach. All aspects of the cultural sector are critically examined, and the skills we developed were both practical and highly responsive to real-world challenges. The course offers both local and global perspectives, which are reflected not only in the curriculum but also in the diverse experiences of its lecturers and staff—essential in the rapidly diversifying and global jobs market. It opened my eyes to wider opportunities and was the foundation of my career.
